§ 10.52.720. Special uses—Fees.

  • The following special uses and charges shall apply within the two-hour continuous parking zones or at a metered space, as designated in Section 10.52.460 of the city-county. All applications shall be made through the office of the parking commission and permits will be issued by the parking commission director upon payment of required fees.

    A.

    Generally. No curb loading zone shall be designated or signed by the parking commission director upon request of any person unless such person makes application for such zone or signs and pavement markings to indicate a curb loading zone and the same is approved by the parking commission.

    B.

    Loading Zones. The application shall set forth the location desired, number of passenger parking spaces and business hours during which the zone shall be so used.

    C.

    Commercial Parking. Any operators of commercial vehicles providing service and/or delivery of freight, goods, wares or merchandise, requiring frequent daily business calls within the two-hour continuous parking zone or at a metered space, as designated in Section 10.52.460 of the city-county may apply for a commercial permit. The application shall state the name, address and business of the applicant. Approval of the application shall be made by the parking commission director and the fee shall be determined by the parking commission.

    Permission granted under the provisions of this article to stop or park for purposes of service, loading passengers and/or freight, goods, wares or merchandise, shall not extend beyond the time necessary therefor and in no event longer than two hours in any one stop, or the limit of the meter where parked.

    It remains the right of the parking commission to revoke any commercial business permits if they are abused.

    D.

    Construction Zone Parking Permit. Any person or firm engaged in actual and bona fide construction, including loading or unloading of construction equipment and materials, for such construction project within the two-hour continuous parking zone or at a metered space, as designated in Section 10.52.460 of the city-county may apply for a construction parking zone permit. The application shall state the name, address and business of the applicant. Approval of the application shall be made by the parking commission director and the fee shall be determined by the parking commission. Each permit expires after thirty days, unless an extension is granted by the parking commission.

    Permission granted under the provisions of this article to stop or park for purposes of construction, including loading or unloading of equipment and materials, shall not extend beyond the time necessary therefore and in no event longer than thirty days, unless an extension is granted by the parking commission.

    2.

    It remains the right of the parking commission to revoke any construction zone parking permit.
